The Vivo flagship X100 series has been officially launched in China, unveiling two new phones: the X100 and the X100 Pro.

These phones represent the first appearance of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset and showcase remarkable camera capabilities. The X100 Pro, in particular, includes a Zeiss APO 100mm equivalent periscope lens.

Design and display

Both X100 variants feature curved 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1260p, 10-bit colors, and an adaptable 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. These displays can achieve a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits and include 2,160 Hz PWM dimming for improved eye protection.

Internals and software

As previously noted, both phones run on MediaTek’s latest flagship processor, the Dimensity 9300, which introduces hardware-level ray tracing and generative AI capabilities. This can be combined with a substantial 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1 GB of UFS 4.0 memory.

The Chinese versions will feature Origin OS 4, while the international models will opt for the Funtouch 14 OS.

Cameras

The X100 Pro comes with three 50MP cameras, with a focus on a 1-inch Sony IMX989 main sensor. Notably, the X100 Pro distinguishes itself by introducing the world’s first Zeiss APO-certified mobile telephoto lens. This lens incorporates features like apochromatic correction, ensuring improved clarity and reduced fringing at contrast edges.

The third camera module includes a 15mm equivalent ultrawide lens with an f/2.0 aperture. Each of the three lenses is equipped with a T* lens coating, delivering a 50% reduction in reflectivity compared to the previous Vivo X90 series.

The X100 features a distinct 50MP IMX920 main sensor (with an f/1.57 aperture) and a 64MP telephoto lens with a 1/2” sensor, offering 3x zoom capability and optical image stabilization (OIS). The trio of rear cameras is completed by a 50MP ultrawide lens equivalent to a 15mm focal length. Importantly, all three cameras on the X100 are coated with T* lens coating, enhancing their optical performance.

Both phones share a common 32MP front-facing camera.

Battery and Pricing

Concerning battery capacity, the Vivo X100 is fitted with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. In contrast, the X100 Pro accommodates a slightly larger 5,400 mAh battery, offering 100W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
