Samsung is all set to launch the most powerful series of its smartphones across the globe today during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event. After multiple leaks and rumors about the specifics of the event, it is expected that Samsung will launch three phones today – Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Plus and the Galaxy S24.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, projected to be the initial Samsung smartphones with joined AI capabilities, is set to debut today at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event in San Jose, California. The event will kick off at 1 pm EST, translating to midnight Pakistan Time.

Samsung plans to broadcast the event worldwide through its official website, promising significant announcements.

How much will the Galaxy S24 cost?

There aren’t any firm details on pricing, but we don’t expect any significant changes from the S23 lineup. For reference, the base S23 model starts at $800, the Plus at $1,000 and the Ultra at $1,200. The Galaxy S lineup has different models for people shopping on different budgets and it’s a tactic Samsung has used for most generations of its phones.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 both maintained their prices from the previous year, so it doesn’t generally appear that Samsung is looking to shake up its pricing strategy.

What will be the biggest new feature in the Galaxy S24 series?

We can’t be certain until Samsung officially introduces the Galaxy S24 series. However, considering the company’s hints about new AI technologies, it’s likely that AI-powered features will take center stage in the Galaxy S24.

Samsung recently unveiled Galaxy AI, described as an “AI experience” for phones set to launch in early 2024. Although details are sparse, one example mentioned is the ability to translate phone calls in real time through the native phone app.

In terms of the camera, especially in the S24 Ultra, AI is expected to play a significant role. According to a prominent leaker, the 200-megapixel camera mode will use AI to recognize various objects and optimize the shot accordingly. This feature is likely exclusive to the Ultra model, as it currently houses a 200-megapixel sensor.

Samsung also introduced its generative AI model, Gauss, with components like Gauss Language for tasks such as document summarization and translation, and Gauss Image for image modification and generation.

Considering these developments, it’s reasonable to expect that Galaxy AI and Gauss will play a major role in the Galaxy S24 family.

Will there be multiple Galaxy S24 versions?

Most likely, yes. As explained earlier, Samsung has been employing a strategy of offering multiple models for a while. According to prevailing rumors, it’s anticipated that Samsung will unveil at least two versions of the S24: a standard model and an Ultra version. While some analysts propose eliminating the Plus model to create clearer distinctions between the base and Ultra, there are differing opinions from other sources.

How about the Galaxy S24 series’ specs?

While it’s highly likely that some S24 models will be equipped with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, there’s a report from Pocket-lint indicating that Samsung might opt to utilize its own Exynos chips in specific regions. The leak from Blass aligns with the information that the S24 lineup is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
