What to expect from latest iPad Air
Similar to the excitement surrounding a new iPad Pro series, a new iPad Air is also on the way, poised to make its mark in the market. The upcoming iPad Air is said to be the most significant update yet, with a large screen being a key highlight, a first for Apple in this line of products.
While rumors and reports have been circulating about the features and specifications of the new iPad Air, here are the top characteristics you can expect based on reliable sources in the industry, as reported by 9to5Mac.
Just as Apple revamped the iPad Air’s display in 2020 with a 10.9-inch screen and a flat-edged design, they are now planning to introduce an even larger display for the upcoming iPad Air model. According to Bloomberg and other sources, Apple intends to offer a new 12.9-inch display for the iPad Air, marking the first time this model will be available in two different screen sizes. The new iPad Air will use the same LCD screen technology as the 10.9-inch model.
Recently leaked schematics from Apple’s suppliers suggest that the next iPad Air models will feature a redesigned camera bump. Unlike the current single circular camera cutout on the back, the new bump will have a vertical layout, resembling older iPhone camera designs. This bump will house both the camera and flash, protruding more than before, as the current iPad Air lacks a camera flash.
The new iPad Air is expected to have a refreshed design, including a relocated front-facing FaceTime camera. For the first time, Apple is planning to move the camera from the top bezel to the landscape side. This change mirrors a design tweak Apple made for the iPad 10 in 2022. With this adjustment, when using the iPad Air in landscape mode or with the Magic Keyboard, the front camera will be positioned correctly at the top of the device.
The next iPad Air is expected to receive a necessary design update. Apple is likely to move the front-facing FaceTime camera from the top bezel to the side, specifically in landscape orientation, for the first time ever. This adjustment follows a similar change made to the iPad 10 in 2022. Consequently, when using the iPad Air in landscape mode or with the Magic Keyboard, the front camera will be positioned correctly at the top of the device.
