The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) reported receiving 19,223 complaints from telecom consumers against various operators in August 2024, with an impressive resolution rate of 99 percent, as 19,061 complaints were successfully addressed.

Data revealed that the complaints were filed against a range of telecom providers, including cellular mobile operators (CMOs), Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), long-distance international (LDI) operators, wireless local loop (WLL) operators, and internet service providers (ISPs).

The majority of complaints came from the cellular mobile segment, reflecting its dominance in the overall subscriber base. Specifically, 18,546 complaints were registered against CMOs, with 18,407 (99 percent) resolved.

Among the major players, Jazz received 7,460 complaints, resolving 7,449 of them (99.9 percent). Telenor had 3,853 complaints, with 3,816 (99 percent) resolved, while Zong faced 4,851 complaints, successfully addressing 4,826 (99.5 percent). Ufone received 2,352 complaints, resolving 2,286 (97.2 percent).

Additionally, the PTA recorded 163 complaints against basic telephony services, with 162 resolved, resulting in a resolution rate of 98.2 percent. The authority also handled 502 complaints against ISPs, addressing 482 of them (96 percent).
