The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Committee on Science and Technology (OIC-COMSTECH) and Huawei are set to co-host an international workshop titled “Cybersecurity Landscape in OIC Countries: Issues and Prospects” in Islamabad from December 16 to 18, utilizing a hybrid format.
As nations navigate the rapid digital transformation, cybersecurity has emerged as a vital element for ensuring stability and security. OIC countries are facing distinct challenges in safeguarding their data, networks, and essential systems against escalating cyber threats.
According to COMSTECH, the workshop aims to create a platform for stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, and industry leaders from OIC Member States, to address current cybersecurity issues, exchange best practices, and formulate strategies to mitigate risks while promoting collaboration.
Participants will engage in expert-led discussions aimed at developing resilient cybersecurity frameworks that can adapt to the ever-changing threat landscape. This initiative seeks to bolster the collective cybersecurity capabilities of OIC nations and contribute to a safer digital environment.
Key topics of discussion will include an Introduction to Cybersecurity, the Cybersecurity Landscape in OIC Member States, Cyber Threat Landscape and Defense Mechanisms, and Cybersecurity Policies and Infrastructure Protection.
Additional sessions will cover Cybersecurity in Government, Academia, and Industry, Emerging Technologies, Data Privacy, Workforce Development, and Practical Implementation in Specialized Cybersecurity Areas.
