Infinix Smart 9 Launches With 120Hz Display for Just $65

Infinix has quietly launched its latest entry-level smartphone, the Smart 9, in Bangladesh and Malaysia, with a release expected in Pakistan soon. Priced at just $65, the Smart 9 offers up to 48 months of smooth operation, as advertised by the company.

Design and Display:
The Smart 9 features a 6.7-inch 720p LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Always-On display support. Its punch-hole selfie camera also includes a “Dynamic Bar” feature for notifications, resembling the iPhone’s Dynamic Island.

Performance and Software:
Powered by MediaTek’s Helio G81 chipset, the device promises smoother performance for up to 48 months, particularly with its 128 GB version. However, Infinix notes that occasional lag may still occur. The Smart 9 runs Android 14 Go Edition with XOS 14 on top, and comes in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options, with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options, expandable via microSD.

Cameras:
The rear camera setup includes a 13MP main sensor, accompanied by an auxiliary lens. The front-facing camera is 8MP with a wide-angle lens, and the phone supports 1080p video recording at 30fps.

Battery:
The phone is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging and reverse charging. The Infinix Smart 9 starts at $65 in Malaysia, with the 128 GB variant’s price yet to be announced. It is available in Black, Mint Green, Gold, and Silver color options.
