iPhone 16, 16 Pro Users Experience Battery Issues Following iOS 18

Just two months after the highly anticipated launch of the iPhone 16 series, users have begun highlighting a persistent battery bug on social media platforms. Despite its grand debut, the iPhone 16 seems to have missed the mark for some users due to issues with battery life.

According to the reports, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro users have reported facing battery performance problems. The issue has become a trending topic on forums like Reddit and Apple’s support pages.

The source of the problem appears to be related to standby mode. “Reportedly, the battery bug gets activated only when the iPhone is put in standby mode, suggesting a background activity could be causing problems for some users.” Although the exact battery consumption during rest mode remains unclear, it’s believed that different apps are draining power at varying rates.

This battery issue is particularly frustrating for users, as iPhone 16 already faces criticism for having weaker batteries compared to some Android competitors. The iPhone 16, with its 3,561mAh battery, “sips 6.3% more battery than the iPhone 15.” Despite this, tests showed that the iPhone 16 lasted 17 hours and 47 minutes, outperforming the iPhone 15, which managed 16 hours.

Adding to these concerns, some users have speculated that the problem may be linked to the iOS 18 update. However, there is hope for resolution, as “some reports claim battery problems on iPhone 16 were resolved shortly after they upgraded to either iOS 18.0.1 or iOS 18.1 beta.”
