Porcupine or Jhaadu? weird signature of Guwahati official provokes funny memes

GUWAHATI: A signature is a one-of-a-kind indicator of one’s identification that is mostly used for verification. While many people like to keep it simple, others purposefully complicate it so that no one else can duplicate it.

However, one such image of a signature has perplexed social media users, resulting in humorous memes. The signature in question belongs to a member of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, and it resembles a doodle. There are multiple vertical and slanted lines in the signature, and not a single letter is visible.

The signature is displayed above the seal of the registrar of the Department of Orthopaedics, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, dated March 4, 2022, as seen in the viral photo. “I have seen many signatures but this one is the best,” Twitter user Ramesh wrote alongside a photo of the distinctive signature.

Netizens compared the signature to a ‘porcupine,’ because it was so complicated and illegible. Many people have uploaded photos of other amusing and odd signatures. So far, the viral photo has received over 11,000 likes, 1400 shares, and hundreds of comments. Many people questioned if he would be able to make the same sign again.

One user wrote, ”how will banks verify? will they count the number of quills the porcupine has? this is an AI defeating signature who is this officer! needs to be employed by secret services maybe he is sending some secret code in his sign.”

Another wrote, ”To us, it looks like the official was testing if his pen was working or not!”
