After her baby daughter was mauled by a dog that savaged her face, a mother has spoken of her anguish.

Stella, age three, sustained deep gashes and significant bruising during the terrible mauling, according to Paula Gaughan, 32, who also stated that Stella will require plastic surgery.

The toddler, who stays with her mother in Glasgow, was injured by a neighbor’s rescue lurcher while she was visiting family.

When the dog attacked, she had gone outside to give the animal a food.

After learning about her daughter’s injuries, Paula claimed she underwent “suffering.”

She admitted to NeedToKnow.online that it was the worst call she had ever gotten.

“At first, I assumed she had fallen or struck her head; I never for a second considered that she might have been attacked.

“My brain was unable to digest the information, therefore I was in complete disbelief.

Knowing that I couldn’t assist was agonising.

At first, Paula thought her daughter might have “a cut or some bruises.”

I was devastated when I learned that she had terrible facial gashes, the woman admitted.

“Stella was feeding the dog the crumbs from a packet of chips she was eating.

He could readily get them because she tipped them over into the ground.

“The dog was wagging his tail and there was no sign that he was upset, but then she placed her head on his back.

He snarled out of nowhere and bit Stella.

The infant was transported to the hospital, where staff members started treating her right away.

She was worse than I had thought, especially given how close the bite scars were to her eye, said Paula, who published a video of her daughter’s injuries with her 30,000 Instagram followers on the @montessoriplaying account.

“The medical staff kept stressing how lucky she was since her eye would have burst out if the dog’s fangs had sunk in just a little bit deeper.

She tumbled down onto the concrete, leaving her face bruised, black and blue, and with a concussion.

She was given a tetanus shot and strong medications to treat an infection from a deep gash on her cheek.

Since she is so small, Paula explained, “she started having a terrible reaction where she was left bed confined.”

Later, trauma specialists noted that Stella needed surgery right away. She will have plastic surgery in a bid to prevent scarring later this summer.
