British man walks to Makkah
Adam Mohammed, a British citizen with Iraqi roots, walked all the way to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to do Hajj, as the media said.
Mohammed began the trip, which is now called a “peace journey,” in August of last year.
He started in Britain and walked over 6,500 kilometres through the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria, and Jordan.
When Mohammed arrived in Makkah, he was greeted by a huge group of pilgrims and other people. He was overjoyed and grateful that his journey had gone well.
Mohammed said that it took him 10 months and 26 days to finish the trip.
He reported to the media, “There was a powerful voice inside me that said I could go to Makkah by walking all the way from my home. I could not ignore this voice. It was burning inside me like a volcano.”
When he got to Makkah, the pilgrim said that he had to go through a lot of trouble, including bad weather, to get to the house of Allah.
He said that Hajj was his “highest and dearest wish.”
On the 10th of Zil Hajj, after all the pillars of the pilgrimage have been done, Muslims all over the world will celebrate Eidul Azha.
