Manatees startle golden retriever: Video
A golden retriever who fearlessly stepped into the sea became enraged when a herd of eight to ten manatees emerged from the water. A video of the dog’s terrifying moments and the return has gone viral.
The video, released by Now This News, shows the golden retriever swimming slowly in the water. Manatees come slapping the water in an instant, and the dog finds itself in their midst. A woman may be heard yelling, “Flip! Oh my gosh! Flip, come back.”
Orange Beach, Alabama, was the scene of the incident. Sage Taylor, Flip’s owner, breathed a sigh of relief when the dog returned safely. She was worried after seeing her dog get into trouble.
“My heart dropped. That’s for sure. But when I saw she was safe, I was just like, come on, let’s go back to the shore,” Taylor told the source. “She was very shaken up. She didn’t even dry off or anything. She came straight back to the house and just sat here all day and the rest of the night.”
