مقبول ترین ٹی وی ایوارڈز فیسٹیول ایمی نے شرمین عبید چنائے کی دستاویزی فلم ‘فریڈم فائٹرز’ کو 41 ویں سالانہ نیوز اینڈ ڈاکیومنٹری ایوارڈز برائے  بیسٹ فیچر اسٹوری ان نیوز میگزین کے لیے نامزد کیا ہے۔

شرمین عبید چنائے کی دستاویزی فلم فریڈم فائٹرز کی کہانی  3 بہادر خواتین پر مبنی ہے جن میں ایک ماضی میں کم عمری کی شادی کا شکار، ایک پولیس افسر اور ایک مزدوری کی جنگ کرنے والی خاتون ہیں جو عدم مساوات کے خلاف آواز اٹھاتی ہیں اور ملک میں یکساں حقوق پر زور دیتی ہیں۔

New York August 7th 2020: Nominations for the 41th Annual News and Documentary Emmy®️ Awards were announced today by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Academy Award winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Maheen Sadiq’s (@maheensadiq) film Freedom Fighters was nominated in the Best feature story in a news magazine Category. The winners will be announced Sept 21st at an online ceremony (watch.theemmys.tv). Freedom Fighters was produced by SOC Films for the Center for Investigative Journalism. It was part of a documentary series which features the work of four female filmmakers who have produced films about women taking control, taking power and taking chances. The short documentary film (33 minutes) interweaves the stories of three brave women – a former child bride, a police officer and a labor crusader – who are speaking out against inequality and pushing for equal rights. The short documentary features a mix of verité sequences and animation as it follows these crusaders on a mission to create a more just country for their fellow citizens. The film has played in festivals around the world and won the best documentary short award at Tallgrass Film Festival. The nominations are also indicative of the quality of talent being produced by the local Film and Arts industry. The SOC Films team comprises of Director of Photography @nadirsid , who was previously nominated for an Emmy for his work in A Girl in the River and editor @husainqaizar who has edited multiple award winning documentary films and sound engineer @vasyf who worked on both Saving Face and A Girl in the River. #pakistan #emmynominated #socfilms

دستاویزی فلم کی ہدایات کار ماہین صادق ہیں جبکہ یہ فلم ایس او سی فلمز نے سینٹر فار انویسٹیگیٹو جرنلزم کے لیے پروڈیوس کی تھی  جو ڈاکیومنٹری سیریز کا حصہ تھی۔

اس ڈاکیومنٹری سیریز میں ان 4 خواتین فلم سازوں کے کام کو پیش کیا گیا تھا جو خواتین کے بااختیار ہونے اور مواقع لینے سے متعلق فلمیں بناچکی ہیں۔

 اس سے قبل  دستاویزی فلم ’’فریڈم فائٹرز‘‘ ٹالاگراس فلم فیسٹیول میں بہترین دستاویزی فلم کا اعزاز بھی حاصل کرچکی ہے۔

ایمی ایوارڈز کے فاتحین کا اعلان 21 ستمبر کو ورچؤلی یعنی آن لائن تقریب میں کیا جائے گا۔
