Viral video: Monkey sneaks into Delhi Metro station, passes security

A wandering monkey unexpectedly joined commuters at a Delhi metro station after passing through the turnstiles and past the security barrier. A witness at the Nawada Metro Station on the Blue Line captured a viral video of the monkey simply roaming through the facility.

In the north Indian states, colliding with a monkey is not uncommon. People in the video appear unconcerned or astonished by the curious visitor’s quick entrance at the Nawada Metro station.

Previously, in June, a monkey slipped into a Metro train and travelled a short distance in Delhi.

It is reported that it boarded the train at Akshardham Metro and travelled for around three or four minutes. The Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) then stepped in and removed the monkey.

“Staff acted swiftly after getting information on the issue and the train was evacuated at the next station,” the DMRC said in response to the incident.

The business also stated that it was “in consultation with the Forest Department to work out a standard operating procedure to deal with such unexpected situations arising out of their entry into Metro premises for passengers’ safety.”

People have been warned repeatedly not to feed monkeys at metro stations since such encounters could be hazardous to commuters as well.
