Video of a scuba diver saving a fish from being submerged inside a plastic bag went popular on social media. Mike Hudema, a proponent of climate change, posted the video on Twitter. It featured a kind driver rescuing a little fish that was trapped in a plastic bag in the ocean.

The Independent claims that the video was recorded in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka. The fish was discovered on Boxing Day by the marine conservation group The Pearl Protectors in a group of boulders on the ocean floor. It was immobile. The diver promptly freed the fish from the plastic bag after seeing the aquatic animal, and it happily swam away.

The video has received more than 44,000 views and more than 1,600 likes since it was uploaded on Twitter. One user commented on the post and said, “Protect the water. There are living creatures underneath!”

Another added, “I think it is important to know where most of the plastic waste comes from and whether “we” have any control over it. I am for a reduction in plastic, especially in food packaging since it seems to be related to lower sperm counts. That’s a problem.”
