Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and his wife Tammy have been married for over 40 years, sharing a life filled with football, family, and faith. The couple met at Brigham Young University, where Andy played football and Tammy was a student. They began dating and, at Tammy’s father’s suggestion, Andy converted to Mormonism before they married in 1981.
Over the decades, they have raised five children, each born in a different state due to Andy’s coaching career. Tammy has been a steadfast supporter through Andy’s professional journey, which began with the Green Bay Packers in 1992 and has led to his current success with the Chiefs, including a Super Bowl victory in 2024.
Tammy, who grew up in Tennessee and Arizona, is known for her philanthropic efforts, particularly in supporting victims of domestic violence. She was deeply involved with the Laurel House charity while living in Philadelphia and founded the Eagles Women’s Association to encourage community involvement among coaches’ and players’ wives.
The Reids are also known for their personal interests, including Tammy’s extensive quilt collection, which has been displayed in a museum. Despite the challenges, including the tragic loss of their son Garrett to a heroin overdose in 2012, Tammy and Andy remain devoted to each other. Tammy often accompanies Andy to significant events, including the Super Bowl and the ESPY Awards, where they are seen supporting each other with unwavering love and commitment.
