She was living with her boyfriend, who found her hanging with a scarf in the bathroom and called 911. He claimed to be the boyfriend of Daelena in front of the police but according to her family, they broke up in January 2024. He told the police that after taking her down and untying the scarf, he tried to revive her and give her CPR before the arrival of paramedics but unfortunately, she could not survive.

Her medical examination was conducted after her death, and it was revealed that the cause of her death was suicide. This ruling was given without any autopsy, as the body of Daelena was not in a condition on which an autopsy could be performed. The parents of Daelena have doubts about the ruling of the suicide and seek a re-investigation of the case.
