What was the Rebecca Khan real Haq Mehr? The amount will blow your mind
Popular TikTokers and social media influencers “Rebecca Khan” and “Hussain Tareen” have officially tied the knot in a stunning wedding ceremony that’s all over social media. But while fans celebrated the union, one detail grabbed everyone’s attention — the “haq mehr” (dower amount).
Last year in May, the couple had already made headlines with an extravagant string of pre-engagement festivities — including dholki, mayun, mehndi, and more — which ended in just an engagement. Many questioned the need for such elaborate events without an actual wedding.
Now, a year later, the couple kicked off a second round of wedding celebrations. Rebecca’s new wedding journey began with a vibrant dholki, followed by haldi and mayun ceremonies held on the same night. A qawwali night and mehndi were also organized on the same day, leading up to the final “mehndi lagai” event, and then the grand “nikah” ceremony.
Photos and videos from the lavish nikah night have gone viral. For the special day, “Rebecca wore a red and gold lehenga choli” designed by “Kashif Aslam (Kashiz)”, adorned with shimmering silver sequins and intricate beadwork. She paired it with a delicate mirrorwork net dupatta, completing her regal bridal look.
“Hussain Tareen”, on the other hand, wore a traditional white sherwani with a classic shawl, giving him a graceful and dignified appearance.
One particular video clip from the nikah ceremony has sparked an online debate. In the video, Hussain appears visibly emotional as he accepts Rebecca as his life partner with tears in his eyes. The couple reportedly set their “haq mehr at 20 lakh rupees”, but the clip also mentions “2 crore witnesses,” leaving fans confused.
Some viewers misheard the statement and began speculating whether the haq mehr was 2 crore rupees. Social media exploded with mixed reactions. While some clarified that the “maulvi”(cleric) mentioned 2 crore “witnesses”, not 2 crore as the “haq mehr”, others joked that the couple made “all their followers their witnesses”.
One user sarcastically wrote, “2 crore witnesses? That means they made all their followers part of the nikah!”
