Rain and snowfall in Pakistan: Tourists flock to scenic valleys
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is expected to hit western parts of Pakistan on February 29, spreading across the country by March 01-02.
This weather may bring heavy to extremely heavy rains, thunderstorms, and snowfall in various areas, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and more. Hailstorms are also possible. Some places like Swat, Shangla, and Kohistan might experience light rain, thunderstorm, and snowfall on Tuesday evening and Wednesday.
Flash flooding in hill torrents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is possible on March 01-02, and roads in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Abbottabad may close due to heavy rain and snowfall.
