Weather outlook of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; more rains, snowfall likely
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts partly cloudy weather and scattered rain with mountain snow for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night. A westerly wave is affecting most of Pakistan and is expected to persist for the next 24 hours.
Under these conditions, areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot, Manshera, Buner, and Kurrum are likely to experience rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snow on Sunday evening/night. The rest of the province can expect cold and partly cloudy weather.
Monday and Tuesday are expected to bring mainly cold and dry weather to most districts, with upper districts experiencing partly cloudy and very cold conditions. Abbottabad, Balakot, and Manshera may see light rain or snowfall during this period.
Peshawar’s minimum temperatures are predicted to range between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday. In the last 24 hours, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa experienced rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snow, with significant rainfall (mm) in various places, including Parachinar 22, Pattan 20, Kalam 15, Balakot 14, Dir (Upper 11, Lower 06), Malam Jabba 08, Chitral 07, Saidu Sharif 05, Bannu 04, Drosh 03. Snowfall (Inches) included Kalam 07, Malam Jabba, Parachinar 02.
Kalam recorded the lowest temperature in the province, dropping 09 C below freezing. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was 07 C, with a morning relative humidity of 74 percent.
