Lahore, Punjab weather Update: Extensive Heatwave Expected!

LAHORE – A heatwave is expected to hit Lahore and parts of Punjab with temperatures 4 to 6°C above normal from May 21 to May 23.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the heatwave could intensify into a severe heatwave from May 23 to May 27, with temperatures rising 6 to 8°C above normal in parts of Punjab.

Weather Update
A shallow westerly wave is expected to affect upper parts of Pakistan on the evening or night of May 16. This weather system may bring dust and windstorms, along with isolated rains, to areas including Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, and Mianwali from the evening of May 16 to May 18.
