Lanna Tolland was sitting on her sofa in her Glasgow house when she observed a group of people smiling at her from the front gate.

They smiled as they walked up the path to her window and began waving at her.

The American tourists went on to inform Lanna that the house was previously a popular tourist attraction and that it was also the home of their ancestors, leaving Lanna ‘so puzzled.’

While the group appeared to be in awe at the garden, she took some photos with her phone.

She wrote on Twitter about the strange meeting, saying, ‘No way.’ I’m lying on the couch with the blinds still open, and I see eight strangers waving at me at the gate.

‘Open the window, and they’re all AMERICANS saying “we great grandparents used to own this house, may we take a look around?” I thought this only occurred on TV.

‘They’re all being photographed!! What’s going on is driving the dugs insane.’
