Ukraine said it has repelled further Russian attacks on the eastern front; where ferocious fighting have raged for weeks as Moscow attempts to grab the industrial Donbas area.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday, during his first visit to the frontlines in Ukraine; that his soldiers would not give up the south of the country to Russia.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) commander warned that the battle in Ukraine might extend “for years.”

Ukraine said it had also repelled new Russian attacks on the eastern front; where ferocious fighting have raged for weeks as Moscow attempts to grab the industrial Donbas area.

While Ukraine resisted, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned; that Western countries must be prepared to provide long-term support to Kyiv in the event of a protracted conflict.

“We have to be ready for this to go on for years,” Stoltenberg told the German daily Bild.
