
Iran claims that oil sales are high

Iran’s petroleum ministry has stated that it will not lose consumers when China purchases more Russian oil. Despite changes brought on by the effects of the Ukraine war and the continuance of US sanctions; Iran claims that its oil sales have remained relatively high.

According to data provided by the state-run IRNA news agency and “Iran,” the government’s daily newspaper, Iran is currently exporting more than one million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate per day. Iran sold 40% more petroleum, oil derivatives, natural gas, and gas condensate in the first two months of the new Iranian calendar year, which ended on May 21, than in the same period last year, according to the reports. President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration has regularly stated that oil sales had increased by 40% in the first months of his term, while refusing to provide specific data due to the country’s continued US sanctions.
