Nigerian district senator and attorney Ike Ekweremadu is accused of conspiring to set up or aid the journey of another person with the intention of taking advantage of them.
The 60-year-old is being detained and is scheduled to show up in court at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later today.

Beatrice Ekweremadu, his 55-year-old wife, is also accused of the same crime.
Unknown in age, the child has been placed in foster care.
According to a representative for the Metropolitan Police, the inquiry was started after officers investigated probable violations of the modern slavery act in May 2022.
“A child has been secured, and we are closely coordinating with partners on ongoing support,” they declared.
