Brett May: From a gang member to world class bare-Knuckle boxer
A bare-knuckle boxer who was repeatedly stabbed during a gang dispute has revealed the horrific injuries he sustained. Successful bare knuckle fighter Brett May is scheduled to compete in a BKFC event at Wembley Arena in August.
However, Brett May spent his teenage and early adult years in and out of prison, and he was involved with criminal gangs before becoming well-known as a professional fighter.
During the World Cup the year before, Brett fought off several men who followed him inside a corner store in Stainforth.
Despite the terrible attack, in which his arm was nearly severed and he was overpowered by his assailants, he managed to stand up again in a matter of seconds.
Brett had hours of surgery and received more than a thousand stitches after being taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.
Last month, Brett returned to the ring and won his first match following the tragedy in just four seconds.
Brett, who is now leading a sober lifestyle, recently discussed gang violence on the Shaun Attwood True Crime podcast.
He also shared details of one event in which four of his old associates were sentenced for attempting to kill him with a frenzied knife assault.
