Sri Lanka claims no flights would be cancelled
This week, SriLankan Airlines denied media claims that a number of its flights could be cancelled; because of the continued lack of jet fuel in Sri Lanka. Since Sri Lanka’s fuel scarcity peaked; the airline claimed it has been able to manage its flight schedule with the necessary changes; for more than a week.
As a result of the introduction of mandatory stops at specific foreign airports; for the purpose of fuel tankering, some flights’ time and duration; have had to vary in order to manage the current situation.
Despite any obstacles and the operational effects of schedule adjustments; SriLankan Airlines continues to execute its flight schedule with close to 100% efficiency, the carrier stated in a brief statement.
