The night is difficult for the Edmond cops. While KOCO 5 waits to learn the officer’s identification; the crash investigation is still ongoing.

At Comfort Drive and Broadway Extension, there was a collision. The identity of the officer and his tenure with the department; have not been disclosed by Edmond police.

Before the ambulance left, paramedics did CPR on the officer; before he was transferred to the hospital, according to KOCO 5.

The sheriff’s offices in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties as well as the Yukon Police Department; have all shown support for the Edmond Police Department on social media.

David Holt, the mayor of OKC, also tweeted the department his sympathy.

“The cop was sent to the hospital after suffering terrible injuries, and I’m sorry to announce that he died; there as a result of his wounds. The motor vehicle collision is being investigated by Oklahoma City Police. We simply ask that you keep the officer’s family, the department, and our community; in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this tough time “Larry Campbell; the deputy chief of the Edmond PD, stated.

The investigation is being conducted by OCPD; who informed KOCO 5 they won’t have any additional information on the collision until at least Wednesday.
