Pennsylvania Farm Tractor Rollover Kills 3 Children and 1 Adult

• An older-model farm tractor was pulling a flatbed, open utility trailer.
• 12 individuals were riding in the trailer when it went off the road and over an embankment.
• For reasons unknown at this time, the operator of the farm tractor lost control and the tractor rolled.

In Pennsylvania on Friday, three children and a mother perished after being; thrown from a farm tractor that overturned.

Just hours after the tragedy, the Pennsylvania State Police issued a statement saying that they are “investigating” the crash; which happened about 11:00 a.m. local time in Lower Chanceford Township’s Furnace Road 1100 block.

Twelve people were travelling in a flatbed, open utility trailer being pulled by an older-model farm tractor; when the driver went off the road and over an embankment, authorities said. As a result, the tractor and trailer rolled; killing one adult lady and three children.

Along with the York County Coroner, the PSP Troop J Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit; Forensic Services Unit, and Criminal Investigation Unit arrived at the site.

According to PSP’s press statement, the male driver was transferred to a local hospital and was in critical condition.

While the others were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals, three kids were flown.

According to a police official speaking to the local NBC affiliate WGAL; five youngsters are hospitalised at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in severe condition. The youngsters range in age from under one year old to fourteen.

There were 11 children and one mother travelling in the trailer, according to Lt. Adam Reed; who spoke at a press conference that was recorded by WGAL.

Everyone in the utility trailer got thrown from the trailer; causing a number of fatalities and a lot of significant injuries; according to Reed. “For reasons at this time unclear, the operator of the farm tractor lost control; and the vehicle proceeded down an embankment where it subsequently rolled.”

The utility trailer’s four victims, he said, were “riding in the back; of the utility trailer” at the time of the collision.

Their identities are not public yet.

Reed added that although some of the fatalities are in link, it is unclear how many; and that the reason the tractor was in the vicinity with individuals inside; is still under investigation.

The road got blocked at the time of release.
