Man charges with killing three-week-old boy
A 19-year-old male has been charged with wounding with the intent to cause severe bodily damage, following an incident in which another individual was struck in the face with an axe.
On Sunday night about 22:15 local time, the assault took place on Cregagh Road in the east of Belfast.
According to the police, a guy in his 50s who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital has sustained injuries that are likely to have a significant impact on the rest of his life.
A person of the same age who was also detained as a result of the event has now been granted bail by the police.
Additionally, the 19-year-old has been charged with possessing a weapon with the purpose to commit a felony while still being in possession of that weapon.
Later on, he is scheduled to make an appearance at the Belfast Magistrates’ Court.
