Military chief for Luhansk area talks about the destruction in the east
A Ukrainian military official surveyed the devastation in de-occupied parts of the eastern Luhansk region, leaving him with “rather mixed feelings,” he said Friday.
The military administrator for the Luhansk region, Serhiy Hayday, spoke about how painful it was to witness what the Russians left behind. According to a Telegram post describing his journey, he discovered deserted homes, sick or dead cattle, and ruined communities.
According to Hayday, his group located five to six individuals “who remained there up to the last” and assisted in removing them from the settlement. Due to explosives and shelling in the region, he advised civilians to stay away.
Continual warfare in the area, according to Hayday: To the north of Russian-occupied Severodonetsk, in Luhansk’s Svatove-Kreminna neighborhood. He claimed that the Russians are stationing more troops nearby.
