We have failed to control our borders, says Suella Braverman

Suella Braverman, the UK government’s home secretary, acknowledged that border security has been a problem.

She told lawmakers that people traffickers were to fault, but the Home Office needed to be more effective.

The home secretary allegedly received four warnings that holding immigrants at the Manston center in Kent might be illegal.

According to earlier accounts, Ms. Braverman was informed that failing to provide alternative housing violated the law.

Ms. Braverman informed the Home Affairs Select Committee that she would refrain from commenting on papers that were leaked.

But she claimed to have known Manston had a problem since September.

One Albanian police officer was reportedly cooperating with authorities at the Kent camp, according to Dan O’Mahoney, the Home Office’s clandestine channel threat commander.
