Lakeside Miller, Carter floating restaurant begins to sink in UK
At a major shopping center in the United Kingdom, a lake contains a floating restaurant that has half submerged.
A portion of the Miller & Carter restaurant, which is housed in a converted paddle steamer and is situated in Lakeside in Essex, could be seen beginning to submerge in pictures.
The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service reported that it learned about the sinking at 11:00 GMT but that crews were not required to attend the scene.
The shopping center said that approximately six members of staff were on board.
A spokesman for Miller & Carter Lakeside said: “Regrettably, due to the scale of damage we were forced to close immediately.
“Our priority is our guests, and our teams are working hard to contact everyone who holds a booking with us to inform them of the unforeseeable incident and issue refunds as quickly as possible.”
The restaurant will be closed until “further notice owing to structural difficulties,” according to a further statement on the location’s Facebook page, which stated the reason for the closure.
According to the information provided on the page, the restaurant underwent renovations in October of 2019.
