Kason Thomass was found in the stolen Honda Accord in Ohio, which he and his brother were in at the time.
Authorities said that a missing baby was found alive in Indianapolis on Thursday, just hours after a woman who they say stole a car with the baby and his twin brother in it was caught in Ohio.
Kason Thomass, who was 5 months old, was found Thursday near a Papa John’s restaurant in Indianapolis, according to a statement released Thursday night by the Columbus Division of Police.
Nalah Jackson, who is 24 years old, was arrested early Thursday morning on a street in Indianapolis, said Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant.
The police said that Jackson stole the 2010 Honda Accord that Kason was in outside of a pizza place in Columbus’ Short North Arts District at 9:45 p.m. on Monday. The boy was healthy and was going to a hospital to get checked out.
The FBI had put out a reward of $10,000 for the safe return of the boy.
Jackson was arrested in Indianapolis after people who had heard about the missing children saw her there, Bryant said. She was charged with two counts of kidnapping.
It wasn’t clear at first how she was connected to the city. Byrant had said that she was homeless and from Columbus before.
After an Amber alert was sent out on Tuesday, Kyair was found abandoned near Dayton International Airport. It wasn’t clear right away what was wrong with him.
Jackson is said to have stolen the Honda Accord from outside Donatos Pizza when the boys’ mother went inside to get a Door Dash order. Police had said before that she left the kids in the car while it was running.
Columbus Police Deputy Chief Smith Weir said Wednesday that there is no evidence that Jackson knew the family.
It wasn’t clear right away if Jackson has a lawyer who can speak for her.
