In Australia, toxic spinach has prompted an urgent health notice after consumers experienced severe nausea and hallucinations.

Nine persons who consumed the Riviera Farms baby spinach from Costco need medical attention.

According to medical professionals, these patients have also experienced confusion, elevated heart rates, and blurred eyesight.

The spinach, according to Riviera Farms, was tainted by a weed, but no other items were impacted.

Any spinach packets from the brand with an expiration date of December 16 should be discarded, according to a warning from New South Wales Health.

Additionally, it advised anyone who saw any unusual symptoms after ingesting the spinach to go to the hospital right once.

According to Dr. Darren Roberts of the state’s Poisons Information Centre, “No one has died, so we’re very delighted with that and we hope it continues to stay that way, but these people are pretty sick… to the point of noticeable hallucinations, where they are seeing things that aren’t there.”

A representative for Riviera Farms claimed that they had taken quick action by requesting that stores take them off the shelf.

They said that there was “no suggestion” and “no likelihood” that this cannabis had an impact on any other items.

According to NSW Health, all of individuals affected so far are from Sydney, but as it investigates, it has notified authorities in other jurisdictions.
