Seyed Abbas Mousavi, the Iranian ambassador, was summoned to the Azerbaijani ministry of foreign affairs on January 27 as a result of the terrorist attack on the nation’s embassy in Tehran.

Attacks on diplomatic missions are reprehensible, and the terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was forcefully denounced at the meeting.

It was highlighted that, according to the “Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” it is the host nation’s duty to secure the diplomatic mission’s building from all attacks and to guarantee the safety of its staff.

In this context, the Iranian authorities were encouraged to swiftly bring the terrorist attack’s perpetrator to justice, conduct a thorough investigation, identify and punish other participants involved in planning and perpetrating the atrocity, and bring to justice any other parties implicated.

During the discussion, regret was also expressed over the recent anti-Azerbaijani campaign that was launched in Iran, further tense the already tense relations.

The terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy was forcefully denounced by Iranian Ambassador Seyed Abbas Mousavi, who also extended his sincere sadness and sympathies to the Azerbaijani government, people, and family.

The ambassador also emphasized that the incident was immediately addressed by the appropriate Iranian authorities, and that the matter is currently under investigation by the appropriate law enforcement agencies.

He further stated that the information will be made public once the investigation is over.
