Couple threatened after pitchfork used during burglary in Lurgan
A severe burglary in Lurgan, County Armagh resulted in masked men entering an elderly couple’s home with a pitchfork, leaving them shaken.
At around 6:00 GMT on Sunday, it occurred on Monroe Avenue in Lurgan.
Before stealing a pocketbook and driving off in a white sedan, the men demanded money. Police stated the pair was unharmed but had to go through a terrible situation.
It was one of two distinct armed burglary that happened overnight in the town.
In the other incident, which police are not treating as connected, three masked males entered a home in Toberhewny Park brandishing screwdrivers and hammers.
At around 9:30 on Saturday night, according to the police, the males entered through the rear door.
The intruders took a man inside the house and dragged him into another room before fleeing with some cash.
Although there were no reported injuries, the two occupants described the encounter as frightening.
They have made an appeal for anyone who may have dashcam footage or information on a burglary to get in touch with them.
