Dog walker was victim of mauling, says Surrey police
The victim of a fatal dog attack in Surrey was out on a stroll with other dogs at the time, according to police.
Thursday just before 14:45 GMT saw the attack on the 28-year-old Londoner in Caterham.
After receiving care for dog bites, a second woman was later released from the hospital.
According to the police, eight canines were taken away from the scene by cops, and their owners had been located and were being kept updated on the investigations.
Police stated that they had no reason to assume the dogs belonged to prohibited breeds and that the second woman had no connection to the deceased woman.
A cordon has been set up in the peaceful rural neighborhood of Gravelly Hill by police investigating the attack.
No arrests have been made.
Insp Lyndsey Whatley said: “I would like to reassure residents that we are confident all the dogs involved are in the custody of police whilst we investigate the circumstances of what has happened.”
East Surrey MP Claire Coutinho said her thoughts were with the loved ones of the woman who died.
She said: “Thank you to the paramedics for their efforts at the scene, and officers from Surrey Police who controlled the situation so quickly.”
