Thailand offers visitors from the Gulf countries to stay longer
Cairo: As part of its full reopening to tourism, Thailand has decided to extend the length of stay for visitors from the Gulf countries, Saudi media reported, citing Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Bangkok.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced that the stay period for tourists from visa-free countries, including Gulf countries, will be extended to 45 days instead of 30 days as of March 31, and to 30 days instead of 15 for those eligible for visa on arrival.
Saudi Arabia and Thailand agreed last year to fully restore diplomatic ties and exchange ambassadors for the first time in nearly 32 years.
The decision was reached during Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-historic cha’s official visit to Riyadh, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Prince Mohammad paid an official visit to Thailand in November.
TAT stated earlier this month that Thailand will continue to welcome all international tourists under the fully reopened-to-tourism policy that was implemented last October.
Thailand is also offering visitors a longer period of stay as part of its full reopening to tourism, according to TAT.
The period of stay for tourists from visa-exempt countries/territories is extended to 45 days (from 30 days) until 31 March 2023, and to 30 days (from 15 days) for those eligible for a visa on arrival.
“International travelers arriving in Thailand are not required to show proof of vaccination,” Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul said, according to TAT.
