Death toll from Turkey-Syria earthquakes reaches 19,863
At least 19,863 people have died as a result of the terrible earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria, according to authorities.
According to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday, the dead toll has increased to at least 16,546 with 66,132 additional injuries reported.
The White Helmets civil defense organization estimates that 3,317 people have died throughout Syria as a whole, 1,970 of whom were in the northwest rebel-held regions.
According to Syrian official media, an additional 1,347 fatalities have been reported in areas of Syria under the control of the government.
5,245 persons have been injured in Syria overall, spanning all affected areas (2,295 in government-controlled and 2,950 in rebel-held areas).
White Helmets, Turkish government, and Syrian official media data all indicate that at least 71,377 individuals have been hurt in Syria and Turkey.
