Men beaten with metal bars in burglary in Cookstown

• Two guys were assaulted with metal bars during an aggravated burglary in Cookstown.
• Four masked men entered a home on Friday night carrying a metal bar and perhaps a gun.
• Two additional women who were on the premises at the time were unharmed.

On Friday night in Cookstown, two guys were assaulted with metal bars during an aggravated burglary.

Just before 22:00 GMT, four masked men entered a home in Queens Avenue, one carrying a metal bar and the other perhaps carrying a gun.

This is when police were notified of the incident.

After being struck by the bar during the incident, two guys, ages 29 and 26, were brought to the hospital.

Two additional women who were on the premises at the time were unharmed.

The two males and two women, all in their 20s, are thought to have been intimidated by one of the masked guys.
