United Kingdom search and rescue team arrives in Turkey
A plane carrying four search dogs, equipment, and a crew of 77 UK search and rescue experts has landed in Gaziantep in south-east Turkey, according to the Foreign Office.
According to the statement, as part of the coordinated international emergency response, the search equipment will aid in finding survivors buried under the earthquake debris.
A medical emergency team was also on board, and they would undertake a thorough evaluation of the ground situation.
The team, made up of firefighters and staff from 14 fire and rescue agencies across the nation, will enter structures using seismic listening devices, concrete cutting and breaking equipment, propping and shoring tools, and other means in order to find survivors.
