Saudi Arabia opens doors to tourists in its push to diversify economy
Saudi Arabia is on a mission to diversify its economy by promoting tourism and reducing its dependence on oil revenues. The kingdom has unveiled a new tourist visa program to invite the world to explore its treasures.
Visitors from 63 eligible countries can now easily apply for an eVisa through an online portal, offering a gateway to Saudi Arabia’s warm hospitality, rich heritage, vibrant culture, and awe-inspiring landscapes. From the majestic mountains of Abha to the picturesque Red Sea beaches and the enchanting sands of the Empty Quarter, Saudi Arabia promises a diverse and captivating experience.
The eVisa, valid for one year and allowing multiple entries, permits tourists to spend up to 90 days in the country. Travelers can partake in various tourism-related activities, including attending events, visiting family and relatives, leisure travel, and Umrah (excluding Hajj). However, studying is not included in the allowed activities, as stated in the country’s official blog.
Of the 63 countries eligible for the eVisa, a significant number are from Asia. The list of Asian countries eligible for the online visa includes:

It’s worth noting that Pakistani tourists are not eligible for the eVisa and must visit the relevant Saudi mission to obtain the visa, following the specific requirements.
Saudi Arabia’s tourism initiative promises new horizons for global travelers, offering an array of experiences that showcase the country’s culture, heritage, and natural beauty.
