Karachi set for three more days of heatwave conditions
Light morning drizzles across various parts of Karachi, including Orangi Town, Lyari, Saddar, and Clifton, offered brief relief from the ongoing heatwave on Sunday.
The weather remained partly cloudy, slightly lowering temperatures after a week of intense heat. The Met Department reported drizzle in several areas, including SITE, Jahangir Road, and Defense, with intermittent light rain in surrounding regions.
Despite this temporary cooling effect, the weather is expected to stay hot and dry over the next 24 hours. The Met Department predicts that the maximum temperature will range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, with northeast winds blowing at a speed of seven kilometers per hour. The current temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a humidity level of 69%.
Karachi has been experiencing persistent heat even in mid-October, with recent temperatures soaring to a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the cooler weather brought a slight drop, recording a maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius and humidity at 42%.
The Met Office has indicated that similar weather patterns will continue for the next two to three days, advising citizens to take necessary precautions against the ongoing heat.
