Islamabad: In a groundbreaking move to digitize civil documentation, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has unveiled a powerful new facility allowing citizens to apply for divorce certificates directly through the Pak-ID mobile application eliminating the need for tedious in-person visits.

This initiative empowers Pakistanis to access birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates seamlessly from the comfort of their homes, marking a significant step toward a fully digital civil registration system.

To guide users, NADRA has released a detailed step-by-step tutorial, making the application process straightforward and user-friendly.

NADRA emphasized that obtaining a divorce certificate from the relevant Union Council remains legally mandatory after completing the separation process. Only individuals holding a manual divorce certificate issued by the Arbitration Council or Union Council can apply through the app.

How to Apply:

  1. Download the Pak-ID app and create an account.

  2. Log in, select your province under Provincial Civil Registration Services, and click “Divorce.”

  3. Enter personal details, confirm the category as “Divorce,” review the applicable fee, and hit “Start Application.”

  4. Select your spouse to remove them from NADRA records, provide all required information, and enter both your address and your spouse’s address.

  5. Verify details, acknowledge declarations, pay the fee, and submit.

  6. Once processed, the divorce is automatically registered with the Union Council.

  7. Download the approved certificate via “Download → ID Vault → My Documents → CRMS.

Currently, this advanced service is available across all districts of Punjab, key districts of Sindh including Karachi East, Karachi Central, Naushahro Feroze, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Jamshoro, Tando Allahyar, and Tando Muhammad Khan and in Quetta district of Balochistan.

NADRA announced plans to expand the service nationwide, promising that soon, citizens across Pakistan will be able to access these vital civil records instantly, with unmatched convenience and speed.
