ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held telephone conversations with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to discuss the evolving regional situation and issues related to the ceasefire.
According to official sources, Araghchi and Field Marshal Asim Munir exchanged views on recent developments in the region, including efforts aimed at maintaining stability and preventing further escalation.
Separately, Foreign Office said Ishaq Dar and the Iranian foreign minister discussed the current regional situation and matters of mutual interest during a telephone call.
During the conversation, Araghchi expressed serious concern over what he described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and warned that Israeli directives regarding potential military strikes on parts of Beirut could further destabilize the region.
The Iranian foreign minister also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in regional diplomacy and requested Islamabad to continue its diplomatic efforts to help reduce tensions and preserve the ceasefire.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar conveyed Pakistan’s deep concern over the prevailing situation and stressed that the continuation of the ceasefire was essential to preventing further escalation and a broader regional crisis.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations aimed at promoting peace, stability and regional security.
