Winners of the Rs40,000 Prize Bond Draw will not receive the full prize amount because of applicable tax deductions. Registered tax filers will be subject to a 15 percent withholding tax, reducing the Rs80 million first prize by Rs12 million and bringing the net payout to Rs68 million.
Non-filers, on the other hand, will face a 30 percent tax deduction. This will result in Rs24 million being deducted from the first prize, leaving them with a final payout of Rs56 million.
Officials have also confirmed that prize money will be transferred directly into the winners’ registered bank accounts to ensure a smooth, secure, and transparent payment process.
The announcement has sparked excitement among prize bond holders across the country, with thousands checking their bond numbers in the hope of finding their names among the latest lucky millionaires.
