Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau On Sunday,  expressed his concern about the stabbings in Saskatchewan, calling them “horrific and heartbreaking.”

“I’m thinking of those who have lost a loved one and of those who were injured,” the prime minister said.

“We are closely monitoring the situation, and urge everyone to follow updates from local authorities,” Trudeau tweeted. “Thank you to all the brave first responders for their efforts on the ground.”

The stabbings across 13 crime scenes were among the deadliest mass killings in modern Canadian history, and they are sure to reverberate throughout the country, which is unaccustomed to outbreaks of mass violence seen more frequently in neighboring America.

Suspects on the loose

Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson, two suspects who are currently on the run, have been identified by Canada Police.

Canada’s Public Safety Minister, Marco Mendicino, has urged residents to stay safe and seek shelter. “To everyone in Saskatchewan, especially those near the James Smith Cree First Nation area, please take shelter and stay safe,” he tweeted.
