One of the most adored couples in the Bollywood industry is Rajkummar...
Patralekhaa is trying to come to terms with her dad’s sudden death
As the year 2022 comes to a conclusion, actor Patralekhaa reflects and labels it “a twister.” The CityLights star recalls how it has been filled of both wonderful and sorrowful moments. “It has been an amalgamation of so many things – moving on from dad’s death, starting a new journey with Raj, and being in a really great phase in my career.”
Patralekhaa goes into considerable detail about how she dealt with her father’s unexpected death. “He had travelled to Shimla for some work and he never came back. He suffered a haemorrhage and me and my family could not even make it on time. Dealing with his death ever since has been a lot for me. So many things were left unspoken and will always linger in my mind. That journey…that process, I am still trying to come to terms with. It has been difficult. The last one year has been about that as well.”
The actor claims there is no specific method she uses to cope with the loss of a loved one and goes on to explain, “All I do is sit quietly and feel the emotions or sometimes talk to my mother, sister or Raj about it.”
Patralekhaa married actor and long-time partner Rajummar Rao six months after her father died. “Given the situation, we could have done the wedding after a year or so but my mother did not want to postpone it. She was adamant and said that my father would have been the happiest to see me getting married after all these years. So we did not change the date and went ahead because one day we any way would have gotten married. Also, postponing it would not have made the grief any lesser.”
Patralekhaa claims that her husband Raj has been a constant source of encouragement throughout this journey. “We were best friends and we will continue to be so. Raj is the nicest human being. He let me be the way I am. We both go to work and come back home to spend time with each other and our pet dog. We are home birds and these small, simple moments is what makes our life special,” she tells us.
She didn’t have any new projects come out in the last year, although she was filming four projects that will be launched in 2023.
Shedding light on the same, she says, “First one of Aar Ya Paar, also starring Sumeet Vyas. Second is also an OTT project titled Gulkand Tales. Third is a comedy film with Luv Ranjan productions and I would say it was a great learning experience for me as I got to try my hand at the most challenging genre(comedy). And lastly, there is an untitled film about friendship with Maanvi Gagroo. All in all, I am enjoying this phase in my career as I am getting opportunities to play versatile roles in completely different kind of projects, thanks to OTT,” she wraps up.
