4 dead and 5 injured after separate incidents in County Tyrone
Monday’s two separate crashes in County Tyrone resulted in the deaths of four people and injured five people.
The two car drivers that were killed in the collision on Dungannon Road, close to Cookstown, perished. Patrick Rogers, a man in his 20s, and a woman in her 80s were the two.
One of the automobiles’ passenger, a woman in her 50s, also passed away. The hospital is still housing four kids and a woman in her 20s.
In a collision on the M1, a woman also perished.
Police reported that a woman in her 40s had passed away after a single-vehicle accident on the motorway.
She was identified as Imelda Quinn, a nurse from County Tyrone and mother of two young children.
Just about 13:30 GMT, police got a complaint that a blue Mercedes had off the eastbound lane close to the Stangmore junction.
Emergency services were called, but the woman subsequently passed away from her injuries in the hospital, according to the police.
CannyMan Community Arts said Ms. Quinn was a founding member of the organization and that it was “difficult to find words to articulate the incredible loss, grief and sorrow felt at this time”.
“Coming from a family steeped in music and arts and with an abundance of talent, Imelda had the foresight to create an organization that would celebrate the arts and provide opportunities to showcase talent within the Galbally community,” it added.
The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast is providing medical care for the four children and mother hurt in the other collision.
Officers arrived at the scene at 15:30, according to Ch Supt Gerard Pollock and colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
“An investigation led by specialist investigators from the Collision Investigation Unit has been commenced and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage or any other information to contact police,” he said.
According to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, four emergency crews, two fast response paramedics, and one non-emergency crew were deployed.
Additionally, the air ambulance team was called.
