The nationwide death tally due to novel coronavirus has reached  2,255 after new deaths reported in the past 24 hours, with 113,702 confirmed cases.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Till now 43,460 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 41,303 in Sindh, 14,527 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7,031 in Balochistan, 5,963 in Islamabad, 974 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 444 in Azad Kashmir.

According to the national dashboard, 2,641 cases were reported in Punjab, 178 cases were reported in Islamabad and 32 new cases were detected in AJK.

The country’s death toll also climbed to 2,255 after 34 deaths were reported in Punjab and five more in the federal capital.

Pakistan has so far conducted 754,252 coronavirus tests and 23,799 in last 24 hours. 36,308 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition.

Permission Granted to PPE exports

The government has lifted the ban on exports of seven products classified as personal protective equipment (PPE) in a bid to allow manufacturers to honour international orders.

Pakistan Badly Affected By COVID-19 

Earlier Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) has been spreading at a quick pace both in developed and underdeveloped countries.

Addressing in Islamabad,  Shah Mahmood Qureshi said “The economies of developing countries are far more troubled by the coronavirus pandemic than the developed world,”

Foreign Minister Qureshi has said that the UNHCR should support and provide adequate finance related to refugee support programs in countries that are hosting refugees.

The FM maintained that the economy of Pakistan badly affected by the coronavirus outbreak. He added despite the economic crisis, Pakistan has been hosting a large number of Afghan refugees.
